FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is Pregstop® an abortion pill?
I’ve had unprotected sex, am I likely to get pregnant?
I forgot my birth control pill. What should I do?
Pregstop® is not an abortion pill. It is an emergency contraceptive pill. Pregstop® is used to prevent a pregnancy following unprotected intercourse or suspected contraceptive failure. Pregstop® is not effective if the woman is already pregnant.
I’ve had unprotected sex, am I likely to get pregnant?
It is difficult to pinpoint a time when you are most likely to get pregnant due to a few reasons. First, you can get pregnant at any time of the month, the most fertile time being when you are ovulating. Most women are unaware of their ovulation window. Second, sperm can last up to 7 days in a woman’s body. So even if you were not ovulating while engaging in unprotected intercourse, the sperm could still fertilize the egg afterwards.

When unprotected intercourse happens and you do not want to get pregnant, Pregstop® is an option for emergency contraception. Pregstop® is not an alternative to long term birth control and should not be used regularly.
I forgot my birth control pill. What should I do?
If you forgot to take your contraceptive pill for more than 24 hours and have engaged in unprotective intercourse, then consider taking Pregstop® to prevent unwanted pregnancy.
Will Pregstop® affect my fertility or ability to get pregnant in the future?
